Prospect Schools is a high-performing, intentionally diverse K-12 college preparatory charter network serving nearly 3,000 students across seven schools in Brooklyn. About the role

Prospect Schools is seeking a Fourth Grade Math Teacher. Our teachers follow an equity-driven approach grounded in the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, emphasizing academic rigor, critical thinking, global mindedness, and inclusive classroom practices. As an educator at Prospect, you will join a collaborative, high-performing instructional team and report directly to a member of the school leadership team.

Responsibilities

Planning and Instruction

• Design and deliver culturally responsive, engaging lessons that support learning in an intentionally diverse classroom and actively engage a variety of learning styles
• Utilize data, strong content knowledge, and effective pedagogy to plan clear, objective-driven instruction to advance learning for all students
• Collaborate with co-teachers and instructional leaders through coaching, professional development, and advisory groups to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth

Classroom Environment

• Set clear expectations and consistent routines to create a purposeful, warm, and supportive learning environment
• Build a culturally sustaining classroom community where all students feel known, safe, valued, and respected by adults and peers

Staff Collaboration

• Embody a “Team First” mindset by collaborating across grade level and content teams, participating in professional development, and partnering with the broader school community
• Demonstrate a commitment to giving and receiving feedback for continuous personal growth and improvement of the teaching and learning team

Caregiver Partnership

• Build strong partnerships with caregivers through consistent communication and regular updates on student progress
• Use caregiver feedback to continuously improve instruction and the overall learning experience
• Coordinate and facilitate family meetings as needed and attend all school-wide caregiver events

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Prior teaching experience
• In the process of earning or have earned a New York Teaching License Certification (Learn more here)

Pay

The salary range for this role starts at $63,960, then increases based on years of experience. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, based on an individual’s skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role.
