Pre-K Certified Teacher (Lottery) – Salaried, exempt position. 188-day contract work year. Reports to Principal. Evaluated under TKES and PEI instruments.

Qualifications

  • Valid Georgia Educator Certificate in the assigned teaching field as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate understanding of curriculum, subject content, pedagogical knowledge, and student needs by providing relevant learning experiences.
  • Exhibit best practices based on current research and facilitate students’ use of higher-level thinking skills.
  • Plan effective strategies, resources, and data-driven instruction using State and local school district curricula and standards to address differentiated student needs.
  • Analyze and use student learning data to inform planning and instruction.
  • Promote student learning using research-based instructional strategies and appropriate technology to engage students in active learning.
  • Challenge and support each student by providing content and developing skills that address individual learning differences.
  • Use diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to inform instructional modifications for each student.
  • Gather, analyze, and use data to measure student progress, inform instruction, and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  • Maintain a well-managed, safe, and orderly learning environment that encourages respect and supports student diversity.
  • Establish and enforce clear expectations for classroom rules, routines, and procedures.
  • Implement school safety measures and crisis emergency plans consistent with District and school policies.
  • Create a student-centered academic environment where teaching and learning occur at high levels.
  • Exhibit commitment to professional ethics, the school’s mission, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Compile, maintain, and submit all required reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to federal and state laws, the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, and State and local School Board policies.
  • Maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate, or credential as required for the position.
  • Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable, and punctual manner.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, district and school personnel, and other stakeholders to enhance student learning.
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other school and District personnel to ensure student progress.
  • Engage in ongoing communication regarding instructional goals, expectations, and student progress.
  • Perform other professionally and efficiently assigned duties.
