About the role
Velosity Brooklyn Park is searching for a Swiss Machinist II to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN on our weekend night shift.
Responsibilities
- Set ups and operation of Swiss Machines per work instructions and set up sheets.
- Monitor and adhere to quality standards per the quality manual.
- Operational knowledge of many types of machines and controls.
- Set up Swiss Machines on most intermediate complexity level production jobs unaided as required by work instructions and set up sheets.
- Willing and able to train others on basic and intermediate complexity level production jobs.
- Good communication with their peers of the immediate work cell/line.
- Able to effectively communicate across the department, including the extended team.
- Troubleshoot intermediate machining job problems with supervision.
- Accesses the systems for training and clocking in/out of jobs.
- Train and run other types of equipment as the business need arises.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.
- Participate in continuous improvement, 5S, and Lean initiatives.
Qualifications
- Extensive understanding of G and M code for a citizen machine.
- Some macro program knowledge.
- 2+ years of experience, preferably in a Medical Device or Component manufacturing environment.
- Able to use a computer, calculator, read and write in English and do shop Math.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Verify all products meet quality specifications both visually by using a microscope and dimensionally in accordance with specifications or other Quality System requirements.
- Use of vision systems, CMM's as well as hand tools.
- Demonstrate the ability to read and understand QC calc/ SPC and use the data to perform offsets, tool changes and maintain dimensional integrity.
- High School Diploma/GED-General Studies.
- Certificate-Machine Trades or equivalent work experience.
- Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.

- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment Requirements
- Manufacturing environment, exposure to heat, noise, dust, dirt, oil and water.
