Swim Team Head Coach

About the role

The Carol Stream Park District is seeking a Head Coach for the Dolphins Swim Team. This part-time position offers a salary range of $18.00/hour to $20.00/hour, with a maximum of 20-25 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees and parents.
• Develop and conduct daily practices based on a written training regiment, which must be submitted to the Program Manager on a monthly or seasonal basis.
• Schedule practices on Mondays through Saturdays.
• Promote growth and development within the Carol Stream Park District Swim Team.
• Set training regiments for Assistant Coaches and oversee their implementation.
• Instruct swimming skills necessary for team participation.
• Aid in the hiring and supervision of Assistant Coaches.
• Prepare meet line-ups and attend coaches meetings for the swim conference.
• Maintain a commitment to a safe and effective aquatic environment.
• Be familiar with the safe operation of any necessary equipment and perform tasks accordingly.
• Ensure compliance with district policies, procedures, work, and safety rules.
• Represent the Carol Stream Park District positively at all times.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a swim coach, with head coach experience preferred.
• Previous swimming and coaching experiences.
• Flexibility and patience.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Personal maturity and ability to work independently or in teams.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification from an accredited provider (or ability to obtain).
• Safety training for swim coaches (or ability to obtain).
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Minimum age: 18.
