About the role
The swim lead will create engaging, safe and inclusive swim lessons in a fun, supportive environment where participants can build confidence, develop essential swimming skills and enjoy learning.
Locations: Wayzata East Middle School Pool and Wayzata West Middle School Pool. Training provided prior to program start dates.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, coordinate and direct swim activities and program for participants of all ages and skill levels.
- Provide support and assistance to participants and staff as needed to promote a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible environment.
- Work collaboratively with instructors, lifeguards, recreation staff, and supervisors to ensure safe, engaging and high-quality programs for all participants.
- Follow established staff policies, procedures, safety standards and guidelines, ensuring all staff and participants understand and follow the established policies and procedures.
- Provide a safe, fun and appropriate experience for all participants.
Qualifications
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification is required, or must be able to obtain.
- Must demonstrate an interest in and ability to teach children.
- Must demonstrate strong communication skills.
Schedule
Flexible shifts with daytime, evening and weekend hours, no more than 29 hours per week.
