Swim Instructors- Gilroy Aquatic **INTERNAL PROMOTION POSITION**

Responsibilities

• Supports The Swimming Swan LLC's mission statement and the facility's goals.
• Plans, organizes, and leads lessons in accordance with the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program.
• Maintains close monitoring of pool-related activities and identifies any safety/hazard issues.
• Determines the safety and proper conduct of swim lesson students.
• Directs swimmers out of the pool or to clear the deck during hazardous conditions.
• Maintains awareness of weather reports to ensure student safety.
• Adheres to and upholds The Swimming Swan LLC's "Inclement Weather" policies and procedures.
• Completes and submits incident reports and documentation forms when applicable.
• Aids swim lesson students as needed.
• Completes "Certificates of Achievement" for all American Red Cross Learn to Swim students.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 15 years old.
• Current and valid ARC or equivalent certification, including but not limited to: Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED.
• Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred for at least 2 years of teaching experience.
• Access to a reliable vehicle.
• Strong customer service background preferred.
• Special needs/adaptive aquatic teaching experience preferred.
• Comfortable working with all ages/abilities.
• Possesses genuine passion for working with children.
• Strong communication skills.
• Professional demeanor.
• Ability to work well with others, be a team player, take direction well, and be receptive to feedback.
