Swim Instructor and Lifeguard - Part-time

About the role

Part-time Swim Instructor needed in our Sunrise and/or Coral Springs locations. We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working in a fun, entertaining environment and have a passion for working with children and a love of water. While we teach swimming to all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged children. Our instructors should enjoy working with this age group and be able to put parents at ease. Experience in working with children or in a child-oriented business is preferred, but not required if you can demonstrate the right attitude.

The position includes 40 hours of specialist training in our highly developed British Swim School methodology.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and standards
• Conduct classes in a fun and gentle environment, following current teaching methods, policies, and safety and emergency procedures
• Work a flexible schedule that includes early evenings and at least 1 weekend day
• Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and stand in the water for up to 4 consecutive hours

Requirements

• Must be able to work Saturday and/or Sunday morning from 9am to 1pm, and a couple of weeknights from 4pm to 8pm
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics specific training and successfully pass the final in-water and written exams
• Must complete CPR/AED & First Aid training within 90 days of employment
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
• Successful clearance of background check

Skills

• Enthusiastic, assertive personality with strong relationship and customer service skills
• Effectively communicate with customers and employees; bilingual is a plus
• Disciplined to follow schedules and enforce safety procedures, as well as follow policies, teaching methods, and procedures of British Swim School
• Able to demonstrate swim strokes appropriately

Pay

$15.00 - $17.50 per hour
