Primary Responsibility

Eaton Corporation in Sumter, SC is currently seeking a Coordinator in Switchboard on 1st shift to join our team. In the Coordinator role, you will work with the Supervisor and Team Lead to drive results on key metrics including safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. You will provide leadership by promoting teamwork, delivery of materials, and providing proactive resolution to production needs. Essential Functions

  • Coordinate material for your designated area as well as between areas to meet scheduled ship dates.
  • Review and update the status of orders and materials with manufacturing supervisors, material control personnel, and people in work areas, customer service, and KanBan expeditors.
  • Regularly schedule multi-functional production meetings which vary from once a week to daily depending on area(s) of responsibility.
  • Review orders and associated documentation (drawings, travel documents, bills of material) as needed to ensure the team has the appropriate information to complete the job and to assist with troubleshooting problems with the order documentation.
  • Utilize the computer, including Microsoft Excel, DMM, AS400, and the Material Synchronization Spreadsheet, to maintain control of floor stock and floor records.
  • Promote a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by proactively addressing and resolving concerns and escalating issues to your supervisor as appropriate.
  • Process surplus, rejected, and/or defective material according to procedures.
  • Problem solve manufacturing information by identifying missing and incorrect items.
  • Attend the Tier meeting, check and update emails, and log into required systems (DMM, Enovia, AS400).
  • Review production tasks, including checking turnbacks, the Kanban list, crane sheets, and SPCs on the brake and/or punches; also identify past-due parts and monitor the sidesheet list.
  • Act as a back-up Team Lead if needed, ensuring continuity in leadership and operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or materials processing experience required.
  • Prior work experience using a computer, including competence in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • 1 year of leadership experience managing people, project teams, or previous coordinator experience is strongly preferred.
  • 1 year experience in switchboard assembly.
  • Experience with Eaton systems including order entry (Vista), material management (DMM), MRP/ERP (AS400)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip.
  • The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds.
  • The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds.
  • The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and to talk.
