About the role
You will join Dexcom’s Software R&D, Data Platform Test Engineering team in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. This role involves contributing to the full lifecycle of software by building quality into products through automated and manual testing, collaborating with development teams, and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Participate in building quality into products by writing automated tests and performing ad hoc testing throughout the development cycle.
- Contribute to the development of software requirements and design specifications.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual test scripts to validate Dexcom CGM software and systems.
- Create verification and validation test plans, test reports, and traceability matrices; review with stakeholders.
- Record and track issues in the bug tracking system and analyze failures to ensure root cause investigation.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve release processes and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Work cross-functionally to support testing, deployment, and reporting on product performance, quality, security, and stability.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in software development or software test development using Python or other OOP languages.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience with automated test development for API testing and working with frameworks like Robot Framework.
- Strong understanding of API testing, microservices, and distributed systems in cloud environments (Google Cloud or AWS).
- Experience with automated UI testing and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- CI/CD experience, especially using cloud-based technologies.
- Five or more years of Agile development and test development experience.
- Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with minimal guidance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Master’s degree with 0–2 years of experience may substitute for a portion of the experience requirement.
- Experience in the medical device industry and familiarity with FDA design control processes is highly desired.
- Working knowledge of GCP with Airflow, Dataflow, and BigQuery.
- Experience with distributed event streaming platforms like Kafka is a plus.
- Experience with performance testing is a plus.
- Excellent debugging skills and attention to detail.

Pay
$82,900.00 – $138,100.00 per year.
Schedule
- Remote workplace: Home office; no requirement to live within commuting distance of a Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km). Hybrid options may be available for those within commuting distance.
- Travel required: 15–25%.
