Responsibilities

As a Developer at IBM, you’ll help build the technologies powering the quantum revolution and the next generation of AI. Join a team of innovators who turn bold ideas into real-world solutions through creativity, curiosity, and continuous learning, delivering impact on some of the industry’s most trusted platforms. In this role, you’ll work across client-server architectures, networking, application development, and databases to design and deploy Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. We’re seeking motivated developers who can create clean, well-documented, and intuitive APIs that enable customers and teams to build with confidence.

• Design and develop scalable server applications, firmware, and databases
• Help build large-scale systems that support continuous delivery across cloud and on-premises environments
• Participate in Agile development cycles, including design, coding, testing, and support
• Transform wireframes into intuitive, functional user experiences
• Apply software engineering and testing best practices to deliver high-quality solutions
• Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance development efficiency and productivity
• Integrate AI capabilities to make platform solutions easier to deploy, use, and scale

Requirements

• Prior (project or internship) experience in software development and/or platform engineering
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Passion for technology and engineering
• Soft skills including growth mindset, trust, teamwork, courage, resourcefulness, and outcome focus
• Working knowledge of servers, applications, DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins), and databases

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, Systems Engineering, Data Sciences, or related majors

Skills

• Cloud development (pushing code through a CD pipeline)
• Generative AI practical application in development environment, including prompt engineering
• Experience with one or more of the following technologies: C++, C, Java, Go, Ruby, Python, Perl, SQL
• Understanding of virtualization concepts and cloud operations
• Working knowledge of one or more major databases: MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL
