About the role

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will provide clinical support for the Doctor of Optometry (OD) to increase patient satisfaction and elevate exam efficiency. This position reports to the Professional Services Department.

Responsibilities

• Assists in improving exam efficiency and elevating patient experience
• Communicates with retail office management and staff
• Prepares the clinic day with strong organizational skills
• Performs refraction and case history review, including current medical conditions
• Conducts non-contact tonometry and auto-refractor testing
• Measures visual acuity and blood pressure
• Performs lensometer, visual field testing, and fundus photography
• Conducts OCT testing and eye drop instillation
• Performs additional clinical procedures requested by the supervising OD within the scope of knowledge
• Hands off patient care to the OD
