About the role

SVS Vision, a Michigan-based optical company with over 80 offices in 9 states, is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to provide clinical support for the Doctor of Optometry (OD). This role aims to increase patient satisfaction and elevate exam efficiency, reporting to the Professional Services Department.

Responsibilities

• Assists in improving exam efficiency and elevating patient experience
• Communicates with retail office management and staff
• Prepares the clinic day with strong organizational skills
• Performs refraction and reviews case history, including current medical conditions
• Conducts non-contact tonometry, auto-refractor, and visual acuity testing
• Measures blood pressure and uses a lensometer
• Performs visual field testing, fundus photography, and OCT testing
• Administers eye drop instillation
• Performs additional clinical procedures requested by the supervising OD within the scope of knowledge of the Ophthalmic Technician
• Hands off patient care to the OD
