SVP, Specialty Customer Segment

About the role
The SVP, Specialty Customer Segments is responsible for providing strategic leadership, commercial direction, and operational oversight for Performance Foodservice specialty segments. Reporting to the Corporate EVP, Performance Foodservice, this role partners across the enterprise to align specialty segment priorities with broader Performance Foodservice objectives, drive profitable growth, strengthen customer and supplier relationships, and ensure coordinated execution across sales, operations, procurement, finance, marketing, customer support, and shared services. This position serves as an enterprise connector to translate segment strategies into executable business plans, remove cross-functional barriers, and ensure consistent delivery of segment-led sales, business development, service, and market expansion initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provides executive leadership for Performance Foodservice specialty customer segments, including development of segment strategies, growth priorities, customer engagement plans, supplier partnerships, and cross-functional execution.
- Aligns sales, operations, procurement, finance, marketing, customer support, and shared services around specialty segment priorities to ensure coordinated planning, disciplined execution, issue resolution, and accountability for business outcomes.
- Ensures segment initiatives are aligned with corporate objectives, financial targets, operational capabilities, customer commitments, and market opportunities.
- Lead the overall strategy, performance, and growth agenda for the specialty customer segments, aligning priorities to enterprise goals and market opportunities.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and customer retention through segment planning, business development, and execution against commercial goals.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to expand market presence and deliver value-added solutions.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including targeted market expansion, proposal development, executive negotiations, and segment-specific growth initiatives.
- Provide executive leadership to segment teams, including talent selection, coaching, succession planning, performance management, and organizational development.
- Partner cross-functionally with sales, marketing, operations, procurement, finance, customer support, and shared services to ensure alignment of segment goals, pricing, supply chain readiness, service delivery, customer commitments, profitability, and execution timelines.
- Lead cross-functional planning and operating cadence for segment initiatives, including prioritization, resource coordination, risk escalation, decision-making, and removal of barriers that impact execution, customer experience, or financial performance.
- Analyze business performance, market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to adjust strategy and optimize results.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and KPI review for the specialty segments to ensure financial discipline and accountability.
- Lead change initiatives, process improvements, and scalable business practices that strengthen segment execution and the customer experience.
- Represent the specialty segments in executive-level internal and external meetings, customer reviews, supplier negotiations, and strategic planning sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
- 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience in specialty sales, business development, segment leadership, account strategy, or related commercial operations, including senior-level people leadership and P and L accountability.

Pay
$211,000.00 - $315,000.00 with bonus opportunity
