SVP, Chief Medical Officer

Position Overview

The CMO develops and supports the Medical Staff, oversees medical staff functions of privileging and credentialing and peer review, and serves as a liaison between the Medical Staff and MLH Administration. They provide co-executive leadership for patient safety and quality of care for MLH patients, ensure compliance with federal, state and other regulatory agencies, and provide executive leadership for Graduate and Continuing Medical Education.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides executive leadership for patient safety and quality of care for MLH patients
• Serves as a liaison between the Medical Staff and MLH Administration
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and other regulatory agencies
• Provides executive leadership for Graduate and Continuing Medical Education
• Works with the Business Development team to provide executive assistance for programmatic improvement and growth within the MLH Service Lines (Cardiac, OrthoNeurosciences, Oncology and Behavioral Health)
• Provides executive leadership for Main Line Clinical Labs
• Supports the Finance Department with payer contracting and the Information Service Department with the implementation of POE and all clinical systems as required
• Provides physician executive leadership for Lankenau Institute for Medical Research

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years experience in administrative leadership-level position
• Strong clinical background with clinical practice experience
• Minimum 5 years experience in health care performance improvement leadership, including complex project management and strategic planning in the healthcare environment
• Minimum 5 years operational experience with a focus on stakeholder value, hospital operations, performance improvement and quality
• M.D. or D.O required, Masters degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or related field or equivalent related experience
