Responsibilities
- Lead the Acquisitions Team in due diligence, underwriting, negotiation, and closing for affordable housing investments
- Oversee negotiation and communication processes with developers, ensuring alignment with investor interests
- Manage team workflows for Property Acquisition Reports and related materials, highlighting risks and assumptions
- Enhance WDAE's closing process efficiency through technology and procedural improvements
- Interface with investors regarding deal structure and transaction risks, ensuring clarity in communications
- Facilitate lower-tier closings by resolving legal and business issues in coordination with developers
- Promote cross-functional collaboration among internal departments to meet growth and risk management objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA, JD, MBA, or MST preferred
- 15+ years of experience in real estate finance, particularly with LIHTC syndication or multifamily housing
- Proven expertise in underwriting and structuring LIHTC transactions
- Background managing complex real estate deals through due diligence and closing processes
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a professional setting
- Knowledge of working with diverse stakeholders such as developers, investors, lenders, and legal counsel
