KBR is seeking a Sustainment Systems Specialist to support a Space Systems Command (SSC) Program Management Office (PMO) located at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO. We conduct Operations & Sustainment (O&S) activities for state-of-the-art Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems, providing global secure, survivable and protected communications for our Nation’s warfighters. We are looking for an experienced, proactive Sustainment Systems Specialist who is a self-starter capable of autonomous, on-the-job, learning/growth while working in a collaborative environment of small teams. The ideal candidate will employ their skills and experience to tackle technical challenges and drive executable solutions for legacy and transitioning strategic and tactical space-based telecommunication capabilities. This opportunity is an engineering management position where the ideal candidate will not only have the required technical acumen, but also the ability to proactively engage and effectively manage technical baselines using established/proven government systems engineering, integration & test (SEIT) processes and procedures to advance O&S activities for legacy and transitioning capabilities employed in the field. Work Environment Location: On-siteTravel Requirements: MinimalWorking Hours: Standard Duties And Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To Engage both government and corporate stakeholders to effectively produce outstanding results Provide senior-level critical thinking and problem solving skills to the government customer; drive technical challenges to their most logical resolution Coordinate with numerous stakeholders/customers from DoW agencies to commercial industry that translate to tangible, positive, mission-focused results Learn and apply established government SEIT processes and procedures in support of MILSATCOM and NC3 O&S activities Develop, analyze and maintain systems engineering documentation and capability requirements to ensure alignment with mission objectives and continuous readiness Apply Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) frameworks and DoW acquisition best practices to daily program office operations, directly advancing strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems Travel: Up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government customer direction Qualifications Required: Active DoW SECRET clearance required to be considered for this positionBachelor’s degree from an accredited university5+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships4+ years of experience working in a highly competitive multi-contractor environment5+ years of experience in architecture/requirements definition/analysis, acquisitions, engineering/design, fielding/integration, and verification or analysis4+ years of relevant systems engineering experience4+ years of relevant systems integration experience4+ years of relevant experience engaging government customers to advance projects and initiatives at varying degrees of complexity through engineering managementMust be able to demonstrate engineering principles and conceptsExpertise with requirements development and analysis, and the development of systems engineering-related documents including requirements/specifications, interface control documents, and validation & verification plansSolid analytical and problem-solving skills; able to sort through complex issues and develop clear solutions, provide in-depth technical assessments and identify issues and risksEffective interpersonal and team player skills in order to engage at both the peer and management levelsAbility to coordinate with numerous stakeholders/customers from DoD agencies to commercial industryProficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)Clear and concise written, verbal communications and presentation skills; able to clearly articulate ideas, recommendations and options to the customerHighly-organized individual, capable of handling multiple competing priorities; able to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and quickly adjust in a dynamic environment Preferred 6+ years of experience in a DoW program office with an understanding of DoW acquisition processes6+ years of experience working with strategic & tactical MILSATCOM space systemsExperience working in a CMMI environmentKnowledge of Digital Engineering (DE) or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) applications (e.g., SparxEA, Cameo, etc)Possess knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications (e.g., Jira/Confluence)Direct experience with Change Management and Configuration Management (CM) processesCurrent International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) certification (i.e. ASEP, CSEP)Possess Project Management Institute (PMI) Program Management Professional (PMP) certification This position is 100% onsite at Peterson Space Force Base's (PSFB), Product Support Facility (PSF) given mission requirements and is not eligible for formal hybrid or full remote employment options. Basic Compensation: $110,000-$138,000 in Colorado Springs The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
