About the role

The Sustainment Engineer (Material Manager) plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of material systems within Lockheed Martin's sustainment operations. This individual will be responsible for managing inventory, coordinating logistics, and providing technical support to ensure materials are available when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory levels and ensure materials are ordered and received on time.
  • Coordinate logistics to ensure materials are delivered to the correct locations at the right time.
  • Provide technical support to engineers and operators to resolve issues related to material systems.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable material supply.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing material management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in material management or logistics.
  • Experience with material handling systems and inventory control software.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management tools.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements in material management.

  • Technical proficiency in material handling and logistics.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Pay

Salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This role is full-time and works standard business hours.
