Sustaining Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, redesign, improvements and general support for existing products
• Designing and releasing custom customer products using current product families
• Researches the history and current state of the product evolution, resolution of production and Customer concerns
• Implementation of product improvements
• Investigation of new processes and materials
• Producing and maintaining accurate project plans
• CAD models and drawings for components and assemblies
• Specification documents, design analysis (tolerance, FEA, FMEA)
• Test documentation, product cost estimates, and Bills of Material
• Capturing and coordinating engineering activities with purchasing and manufacturing and making recommendations for parts, materials and tooling
• Providing technical support to Sales/Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality and Purchasing

Requirements

Candidate must be able to work on several projects at one time through changing priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience in harsh environment circular connectors, cable assemblies and interconnect solutions
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong understanding of CAD modeling and drawing creation
• Knowledge of product improvement methodologies and process improvement techniques
• Experience with FEA, FMEA, and other design analysis tools
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to coordinate with various departments within the company

Competitive salary range: $70,000 - $75,000
