Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a Sustainable Supply Chain Consultant II to join our Value Chain Transformation team within Anthesis. The team supports clients in transforming their global value chains by developing and implementing supplier engagement, supply chain due diligence, responsible sourcing, and sustainability programs that are data-driven, scalable, and aligned with their ESG goals.
- Serve as a key team member on supply chain sustainability projects, providing thorough technical analysis to clients, with recommendations and findings to alleviate hotspots and improve data quality.
- Develop and deliver key project outputs, such as due diligence policies and strategies, value chain mapping, supply chain risk assessments, responsible sourcing strategies, regulatory readiness and gap assessments, and decarbonization roadmaps.
- Review and validate supply chain data against established methodologies and client-specific requirements.
- Support in business development activities including client renewal conversations, proposal development, including responding to RFPs, and creating tailored solutions for clients.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and design bespoke approaches that deliver value and insight.
- Provide guidance on GHG inventories and the intersection of supplier data, Scope 3 hotspots, and integration of supplier data into client inventories (through spend-based, activity-based, or product-specific data).
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of supply chain expertise within the organization.
Key Requirements & Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- 2-4 years of experience in an in-house or consulting role focused on supply chain sustainability, compliance, GHG accounting, human rights and environmental due diligence or supplier engagement, with proven work experience in a supplier-facing role.
- An established understanding of sustainability/ESG issues, with strong ability to analyze supplier data to identify hotspots, risks, decarbonization opportunities for clients and data quality improvements.
- Ability to follow established methodologies with a high level of precision and consistency.
- Ability to enforce data quality thresholds and perform data quality assessments, including pass/fail determinations, methodology improvement recommendations, etc.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, including data collection and management.
- Advanced Excel skills: proficiency with building customized Excel tools, including data tracking, analysis, and reporting for client engagements.
- Knowledge of other analytical software such as Alteryx/Tableau/PowerBI etc would be a bonus.
- Experience in GHG accounting for Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3, specifically in alignment with the GHG Protocol.
- Experience supporting SBTi-aligned target setting, emissions reduction planning, and client-specific sustainability recommendations.
- Experience in delivering high quality and professional reports, in multiformat and for various audiences.
- Experience delivering projects either in house, in the supply chain or in a consultancy or NGO environment.
- Working knowledge of sustainability reporting, including ethical trading and/or corporate sustainability reports.
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Strong project management skillsets.
- Able to work with virtual teams across different time zones.
