Sustainable Research Intern

American Century Investments · New York, NY · 1 mo ago
Analyst$25/hrPart-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role? Actually the posting includes "About Us" and then "Join our Sustainable Research team". The instructions: use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). Use
  • for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and

for prose. Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading (the page already shows it) and do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short

or drop it. Preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. Remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. IMPORTANT: include a section ONLY when the posting has real, specific content for it — never emit a heading followed by filler/placeholder text (e.g. "commensurate with experience", "not specified", "N/A", "varies", "TBD") and never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them. Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. Output ONLY the HTML fragment — no /, no markdown code fences. We need to extract substantive content: About Us (company description) maybe not needed? The instruction says use headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We can include sections that have content. We have: About Us (company description) - maybe not needed as a heading? Could be "About the role"? Actually "About Us" is company overview, not role. Could be omitted? The instruction says we can use headings like About the role, Responsibilities, etc. It doesn't forbid other headings, but we should stick to those. However we need to preserve all substantive information. The "About Us" paragraph is substantive about company. Could we put it under a heading like "About the role"? Not exactly. Perhaps we can include a

before any headings for general description. The instruction: "Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading (the page already shows it)". It doesn't forbid other headings not listed. But they gave examples. Safer to follow examples: we can have sections: About the role (maybe summarizing the internship description), Responsibilities (list of duties), Requirements/Qualifications/Skills (maybe combine), Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We need to extract: - Role description: "Join our Sustainable Research team Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to make an impact in the financial industry? As an intern on our Sustainable Research team at American Century Investments, you'll dive into our sustainable investing approach, collaborating with team members and connecting with various professionals throughout our organization. Your journey here will blend learning and hands-on experience through meaningful projects that support both our Sustainable Research team and investment teams. This program is for currently enrolled undergraduate students. The deadline to apply is November 1, 2026. Location: this onsite position will be based out of our New York City office.Program dates: June 2nd - August 6th (10 weeks)Work schedule: 40 hours/week - Monday-Friday (8am-5pm)". That's a lot. We need to separate: About the role (maybe a paragraph summarizing). Responsibilities: bullet list of duties (the "In this internship, you will..." list). Requirements/Qualifications/Skills: bullet list of attributes (the "Here are some attributes that we are looking for..." and "Here's what will make you stand out:" etc). Benefits: list of benefits (Mentor Program, Business Resource Groups, Casual dress code, robust social and philanthropic calendar, 401k eligibility, competitive pay). Pay: "$25/hour" plus note about cash incentive. Schedule: "40 Hours a week, between 8am-5pm CST" (also earlier mention). Also program dates. We must not include boilerplate like EEO, accommodation statement, legal, etc. Also remove duplicated lines (like benefits repeated). Also remove application instructions (deadline to apply is November 1, 2026? That's maybe metadata but could be kept? It's not a heading; we could include in a short paragraph about the role. The instruction says fold minor metadata into a short

or drop it. So we can include deadline in a paragraph. We must not include sections with filler like "commensurate with experience". Not present. We must not create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless posting actually states them. It does state pay ($25/hour) and schedule (40 hours/week, 8am-5pm CST) and benefits (list). So we can include those sections. We need to avoid duplication: The benefits appear twice (under "Here's Why You Should Choose ACI:" and later "What We Offer"). We'll combine into one list. We need to preserve all substantive information: company description (About Us) maybe we can include as a

before any headings. The instruction didn't forbid a general paragraph. It said use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). It didn't say we cannot have other headings, but we should prefer those. We could include a

for About Us before any headings. Let's structure:

    About Us paragraph (company description).

    About the role

Paragraph describing internship: join Sustainable Research team, passion for sustainability, etc, program for undergrad, deadline Nov 1 2026, location NYC, program dates June 2 - Aug 6 (10 weeks).

    • Passion for understanding and analyzing the impact of ESG/sustainability factors on companies.
We could combine Requirements and Qualifications into one section "Requirements" but instruction allows separate headings. However to avoid thin sections, maybe combine into "Requirements and Qualifications". But they said prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. Having many sections may be thin. Better to combine into one "Requirements" that includes both attributes and qualifications. Let's do that. Thus:

    Requirements

    • Model the American Century Investments Winning Behaviors- Client Focused, Courageous & Accountable, Collaborative, Curious and Adaptable, Competitive Drive
    • Passion for gaining experience within the finance industry and a strive to learn more about the investment industry, balanced investing and stewardship
    • Strong analytical and research skills: ability to distill sophisticated information from various sources into clear, concise communications that may be distributed throughout other areas of the organization
    • Ability to navigate and manipulate PowerPoint and Excel daily for work product management
    • Some exposure to Tableau and/or other technical/data visualization platforms
    • Strong communication skills both orally and written
    • A current rising Junior or Senior Undergraduate student, currently enrolled fulltime in Economics, Finance, Business, Investment Management, or equivalent subject matter

    • Casual dress code
    • A robust social and philanthropic calendar of events hosted just for interns
Pay: we have specific pay $25/hour plus cash incentive potential. Should we include Pay section? The posting states pay. So we can include:

    Pay

$25/hour (with potential cash incentive based on performance).

    Schedule:

    Schedule

    40 hours/week, Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5 pm CST (June 2 – August 6, 10‑week program).

We also have location and deadline; we could include in About the role paragraph. Now ensure we removed boilerplate: EEO, accommodation statement, legal, etc. Also removed duplicated lines (like benefits repeated). Also removed "For New York based, the salary for this role is $25/hour. Actual offers are based on various factors..." We kept pay summary. We also removed "Employees are required to be in the office on a scheduled frequency. Adherence to this schedule is essential to fulfilling the expectations of the role." That's somewhat redundant with schedule; we could incorporate but it's okay to drop as boilerplate? It's not exactly boilerplate but it's a statement about expectation. Might be considered minor metadata; we could drop. Now produce HTML fragment: just the elements. Let's craft final HTML:
