Sustainable Investments Associate Investment Manager
Job Description and Duties
Support the Investment Director and/or private asset class Investment Manager(s) (IM) in the underwriting process for energy transition focused funds and/or climate solutions co-investments.
Map the private climate solutions investment landscape across relevant asset classes. Monitor market developments, emerging sectors and evolving manager strategies.
Contribute to CalPERS climate and performance goals accountability and transparency efforts by supporting the tracking, measurement and reporting of the private markets portfolio’s climate solutions exposure.

Desirable Qualifications
- Advanced Business or Finance degree
- CFA designation is a strong complement
- Deep private markets experience: including experience sourcing, underwriting and executing transactions in the private markets including fund investments, co-investments and/or direct investments
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, DCF analysis, project finance and/or portfolio valuation with a track-record of leading due diligence and investment committee presentations
- Stakeholder management: demonstrated ability to manage relationships with coworkers, advisors, etc. and experience leading and mentoring junior investment professionals
