Sustainability Analyst
About the role
The Sustainable Investment Research Team at Fidelity Asset Management focuses on integrating sustainability factors into investment strategies to help clients achieve their financial goals. The role of the Sustainability Analyst involves providing research insights, engaging companies on sustainability topics, and supporting proxy voting.
Responsibilities
- Provide sustainable investment research insights and guidance for assigned industry sectors.
- Develop and publish proprietary ESG ratings within assigned industry sectors.
- Engage companies and issuers on financially material sustainability topics.
- Support proxy voting for sector-specific sustainability issues.
- Conduct thematic research on various sector-relevant sustainability themes.
- Respond to sustainable investment research needs across Asset Management from both traditional and sustainable portfolio managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required, with an advanced degree preferable.
- 3+ years' experience in sustainability, investment analysis, research, or consulting.
- Experience with data analysis and financial modeling using Bloomberg, FactSet, and ESG data vendors.
- Experience with global ESG frameworks and their application to investment processes.

- A quantitative mindset with experience in sourcing, manipulating, and presenting data from traditional and nontraditional sources.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present effectively to a wide variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated thematic research expertise, tied to investment themes such as climate, corporate governance, water, human capital, etc.
- Ability to work independently and handle unstructured tasks while coordinating multiple simultaneous projects and deliverables on tight timelines.
- A collaborative mentality that can deliver impact in a team-based, results-oriented environment.
- Self-awareness and self-confidence to build conviction in research and ideas, comfort defending non-consensus views while also being comfortable "being wrong."

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $175,000 per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
Schedule
Fidelity's Onsite Working Model requires some roles to be 100% onsite presence, while others may require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
