Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the activities of a field survey party; performs the most technically-complex paraprofessional field surveying duties to support Heavy Highway Construction staking, responsible for calculations, various staking including bridges, storm drain, ponds, sewer, striping, ROW, surfaces, and may include Machine Control Paving, profilographing, and performs other duties as required on heavy highway projects and commercial projects.
  • Is responsible for the effective performance, training, and safety of all members of a field survey party.
  • Captures field survey data through use of conventional and Global Positioning System (GPS) methods.
  • Sets up, adjusts, and operates various type of surveying equipment, in order to measure distances, elevations, and angles.
  • Performs complex surveying and engineering calculations and prepares finished grade sheets, topographic maps, and other survey and engineering reports.
  • Represents Company in project meetings, client meetings, etc.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of survey experience with a heavy Civil / Highway construction is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with Trimble and Leica equipment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and MS Outlook Exchange is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3d, and or Trimble Business Center.
