Survey Technician/Crew Chief

Responsibilities

  • Assist our licensed surveyors in the preparation of topographic, property boundary, and engineering design surveys, and construction staking.
  • Absorb and process survey data and draw production.
  • Create thorough and accurate field notes, survey reports, and calculations.
  • Solve daily survey-related problems and complete projects promptly.
  • Support the project team in meeting client expectations and schedules.

Requirements

  • Experience with GPS, Total Station (robotic and/or conventional), laser levels, and data collection systems is preferred.
  • Experience in Autodesk and/or MicroStation is preferred.
  • Willingness to work both in the office and in the field.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Knowledge of standard boundary reconciliation principles is preferred.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of handling multiple project tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure, be self-directed, and exhibit good business judgment.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of site visits in client facilities and related travel.
  • Compliance with MKEC and client drug/alcohol and safety programs.
  • Current and valid driver's license.

Qualifications

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. A bachelor’s degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
