Summit Design and Engineering is seeking a Survey Project Manager for full-time employment in multiple North Carolina locations, including the Raleigh-Durham area, Asheville, Wilmington, and Charlotte. This position offers a guided career growth path in a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor projects, paying attention to budget, schedule, scope, risk, and quality
- Manage, support, and utilize field and CAD technicians
- Operate AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or oversee drafting technicians
- Perform deed, plat, and records research
- Analyze and adjust field data
- Oversee and/or determine Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, As-Builts, Easements, and ALTA Surveys
- Communicate with clients and other stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and construction personnel
- Maintain company standards and procedures
- Adhere to Summit Core Values
Requirements
- North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure (required)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a PLS (required)
- GPS, RTK, VRS, and robotic total station survey experience (required)
- Willing and able to listen, learn, and teach others (required)
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment (required)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and understanding of mapping concepts (required)
- Adaptability (required)
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record (required)
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. (required)
- Also licensed in South Carolina as a PLS (preferred)
- Ability to use Trimble Business Center (preferred)
- Familiarity with spreadsheets and Microsoft Word (preferred)
- Experience with NCDOT projects and private-side surveying (a plus)
