Survey Project Manager
About the role
The Survey Project Manager at Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is responsible for leading land surveying projects from initiation through completion. This position requires previous industry-related experience in a professional or project management capacity, a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large-scale projects is essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead land surveying projects from planning through final delivery
- Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, contracts, billing, and overall financial performance
- Supervise and coordinate field and office teams, resources, and work plans across multiple concurrent projects
- Provide technical oversight and sign/seal survey deliverables, including plats, easements, exhibits, and right-of-way documents, as required
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, safety requirements, and company quality standards
- Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships with clients, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals, and fostering client relationships
- Mentor and develop staff and represent SAM at client meetings, presentations, and industry events
Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should have a Professional License, strong proficiency with or understanding of tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geopack, MS Office Suite, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to oversee, mentor, and motivate a project team, ability to troubleshoot issues and problem-solve on the fly, and the ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with others.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience is required. Previous industry-related experience in a professional or project management capacity is also necessary.

Pay
Salary Range: USD $90,000.00/per hour - USD $120,000.00/per hour
