Key Responsibilities

Lead survey field crew on a variety of projects including boundary, topographic, construction stakeout, and as-built surveys.
Perform field measurements using total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
Set, recover, and verify survey control points and benchmarks.
Perform construction layout and verify grades, alignments, and elevations.
Maintain accurate and organized field notes, sketches, and electronic data.
Ensure field work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and project specifications.
Cookordination with office staff regarding schedules, deliverables, and project needs.
Review field data for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
Aid with training and mentoring junior field staff.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of field surveying experience, including prior experience leading survey crews.
A strong knowledge of land surveying principles, procedures, and equipment.
A proficiency in the use of total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.
The ability to read and interpret survey plans, construction drawings, and specifications.
An excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
A highly attentive to detail and committed to accuracy and quality.
A valid driver’s license required.
A New Jersey Surveying License is a plus but not required.

Compensation

$31 - $42 per hour commensurate with experience.
