What You’ll Do
- Serve as FEI’s primary on-site representative
- Supervise and direct survey crew members day-to-day
- Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and project teams
- Plan daily activities to keep crews productive and projects on track
- Execute Survey Work
- Boundary, topographic, and control surveys
- Mortgage and as-built surveys
- Construction staking and layout
- Apply appropriate surveying methods and ensure accuracy in all field work
- Confirm crews are fully prepared with the necessary information and equipment each day
- Collect, process, and deliver accurate field data to the office
- Manage Equipment & Coordination
- Maintain survey equipment, vehicles, and supplies
- Ensure proper care and operation of all assigned tools
- Track and report daily field time for billing purposes
- Cookordination closely with office staff, engineers, and project managers
- A high school diploma
- 3+ years of land development surveying experience
- Proven experience leading or supervising field crews
- Strong understanding of field surveying practices and construction staking
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
- Valid driver’s license
- Familiarity with Topcon or Leica equipment
- Experience with Ajera or similar systems
- Interest in long-term growth within surveying
- Primarily field-based work in varying terrain and weather conditions
- Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional weekends or travel as needed
- Strong utilization and efficiency in the field
- Clear communication between field and office
- Ownership of responsibilities and accountability for results
- Consistent, high-quality work and professionalism
- This Role Requires The Ability To Work outdoors throughout the day in varied conditions
- Lift and handle survey equipment
- Operate precision instruments in the field
- Maintain stamina across physically demanding tasks
- Communicate clearly with team members and office staff
- Pre-employment drug screening required; subject to random testing per job site requirements
