Survey Instrument Operator

Responsibilities

  • Aid the field supervisor with all aspects of the daily crew workload.
  • Work in a safe manner and comply with all safety regulations.
  • Supervise the survey crew in the absence of the crew chief.
  • Work independently as a one-person crew when necessary.
  • Daily upload and download data collectors.
  • Operate survey total stations, data collectors, and levels.
  • Care for and charge instrumentation daily.
  • Continuously update knowledge with technological advancements.

Requirements

  • One to two years of experience required.
  • High School Diploma (minimum).
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Good computer and data collector skills.
  • Proficient with Trimble and survey equipment (GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors) preferred.
  • Proficient with EFB, TDS Survey Pro, and Leica Survey Controller data collection software, preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record check.
  • Pass a drug test.
  • Dependable.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance is a plus.
  • Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
  • Ability to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools, and boxes.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.
  • Able to work overtime as required.
  • Able to travel for out of town assignments.

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a driving record check.

Must pass a drug test.

Must be dependable.

The projected range for this position is $51,000 - $66,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, such as skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
