Survey Instrument Operator
About the role
The Survey Instrument Operator supports a surveying or construction crew in assessing the topography and geography of a building site or parcel of land. They assist in calibrating and operating a variety of specialized surveying equipment, collect data, and report back to builders, contractors, or survey leaders. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a team environment, loves the outdoors, and is eager to learn and grow their career.
Responsibilities
- Assist a surveying or construction crew in assessing the topography and geography of a building site or parcel of land.
- Calibrate and operate a variety of specialized surveying equipment, such as Robotic Total Stations, GPS, and other miscellaneous survey tools.
- Collect data and report back to builders, contractors, or survey leaders.
- Able to maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor with all staff and clients.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of computers
- Valid Driver’s License
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly work outside in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold, wet, and muddy conditions, and high/precarious places.
- Ability to travel frequently and work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
- Ability to lift equipment or objects weighing 50 to 75 pounds.
