About The Role
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Survey Field Technician / Instrument Operator to support our mechanical surveying team in the field. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, collaborating with a team, and contributing to high-quality project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and assist with surveying instruments including prisms, total stations, GPS/electronic distance-measuring equipment, and auto-levels
- Accurately record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, sketches, drawings, and digital data collection tools
- Set and position targets for operators to measure angles, distances, and elevations
- Perform manual labor tasks using drills, cutting equipment, and other tools as needed
- Assist with surveying activities such as point layout, equipment layout, and blueprint interpretation
- Collaborate with team members across field operations, administration, and production
Qualifications
- Experience with surveying equipment
- Experience with commercial mechanical contractors and supporting their layout requirements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions
- Ability to perform physical labor and lift equipment as needed
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
