Survey Division Manager

About the role

Pennoni is hiring for a leadership role at our office in Hampton Roads, Virginia. This is a full-time, direct basis position.

Responsibilities

• Provide management and administrative support services for various surveying operations
• Review, approve, and seal technical documents, including calculations and drawings
• Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control review of all survey documents
• Perform project site visits and/or periodic field observation, as required
• Provide guidance to internal departments regarding survey-related project barriers
• Track the financial performance of the group
• Communicate with clients regularly, including generating new work
• Assist with billing clients, collecting debts, and marketing/new business development efforts
• Maintain understanding of and expertise with relevant technologies
• Train employees from all levels within the team
• Travel and work in the field occasionally, as needed

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience working in field/land surveying
• 3+ years of professional experience in land surveying project management
• Active Land Surveyor’s credential in VA
• Valid Driver’s License

Qualifications

• Formal training in Surveying Technology or a related technical field of study; a degree is a plus
• Proven expertise with modern survey methods, best practices, and technologies
• Proficiency with relevant technologies/tools, such as CADD, Total Stations, HDLS, GIS, etc.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, RTS, GPS, and Leica Geosystems HW & SW is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, especially MS-Excel
• Proven ability to manage projects effectively, multitask, and prioritize workflow
• Exceptional client and contractor relationship management skills; entrepreneurial experience is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking, prioritizing multiple assignments, and delegating tasks
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
