SURVEY CREW CHIEF

About the role

Join our field survey team supporting large-scale infrastructure projects nationwide! This 100% travel-based role is essential for collecting field data used in the preparation of project plans and reports across our 33-state service area, covering the entire East Coast and extending westward to Texas.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain conventional surveying equipment, including Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors.
• Execute specific, field-related assignments under the direction of a Survey Crew Chief.
• Apply standard surveying practices, accurately collect field data, and maintain detailed, proper field notes.
• Assist the Crew Chief in recognizing and resolving discrepancies in results.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all survey equipment, equipment rooms, and company vehicles.
• Follow all company QA/QC procedures and safety standards.

Requirements

• Ability and willingness to travel 100% of the time to various states (East Coast to Texas).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and comprehensive background check including a 7-year criminal history check.

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating conventional survey equipment is highly preferred.

Physical demands & work environment

• Frequent standing, walking, and hiking on rough, uneven terrain (e.g., construction sites, steep hills, wooded areas) for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions.
• Requires good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating precision equipment.
