Responsibilities
- Leading Field Operations
- Directing a field crew on projects including topographic, boundary, and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, and construction stakeouts.
- Operating Advanced Equipment Independently
- Data Integrity and QA/QC
- Ensuring the accuracy and quality of all field data, maintaining detailed field notes, and performing on-site quality control.
- Team and Project Management
- Managing project schedules, coordinating with project managers and clients, and training and mentoring junior crew members.
- Problem-Solving
- Applying experience to solve complex field challenges and adapting to changing project conditions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of survey crew chief experience
- Demonstrated experience in the use of GPS devices, data collectors, and/or Total Station
- Knowledge of land surveying principles, practices, and instruments used in computer aided drafting
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices and construction specifications, plans, and regulations related to construction
- Familiarity with column and bolt-pattern layout and as-built survey
- Familiarity with detailed topographic surveys and ADA surveys
- Ability to operate motorized equipment
- Ability to work outdoors under various field conditions
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of Trimble survey equipment (e.g., robotic total stations, GPS)
- Independent judgment and initiative
- Knowledge of industry specific safe workplace principles and practices
