Responsibilities

• Leading Field Operations
• Directing a field crew on projects including topographic, boundary, and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, and construction stakeouts.
• Operating Advanced Equipment Independently
• Data Integrity and QA/QC
• Ensuring the accuracy and quality of all field data, maintaining detailed field notes, and performing on-site quality control.
• Team and Project Management
• Managing project schedules, coordinating with project managers and clients, and training and mentoring junior crew members.
• Problem-Solving
• Applying experience to solve complex field challenges and adapting to changing project conditions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of survey crew chief experience
• Demonstrated experience in the use of GPS devices, data collectors, and/or Total Station
• Knowledge of land surveying principles, practices, and instruments used in computer aided drafting
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices and construction specifications, plans, and regulations related to construction
• Familiarity with column and bolt-pattern layout and as-built survey
• Familiarity with detailed topographic surveys and ADA surveys
• Ability to operate motorized equipment
• Ability to work outdoors under various field conditions

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of Trimble survey equipment (e.g., robotic total stations, GPS)
• Independent judgment and initiative
• Knowledge of industry specific safe workplace principles and practices
