Thew Associates PE-LS, PLLC is a land and hydrographic surveying and mapping firm with branches in Canton, Marcy (Utica), Saranac Lake, and Syracuse, New York. Established in 1972, the company provides professional surveying services and is recognized for its quality and service.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of a Land Surveyor to perform a broad range of drafting duties supporting the firm's service areas.
• Perform surveying and mapping tasks such as topographic, boundary retracement, construction, hazardous waste site, and as-built surveys.
• Conduct hydrographic surveying and mapping using multi- and single beam acoustic, ADCP, magnetometer, sub-bottom profiling, and sediment sampling techniques.
• Utilize remote sensing technologies like terrestrial laser scanning and sUAS surveying and mapping.

Requirements

• A.A.S. in Surveying Technology or B.S. in Surveying Engineering or A.A.S. in Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technology.
• Experience performing document research, processing of survey data, creating digital terrain models, and boundary line determination.
• Excellent computer and technical skills including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Experience with MicroStation is preferred.
• Ability to work independently.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to embrace and learn new technologies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with surveying and mapping software.
• Knowledge of hydrographic surveying techniques.
• Experience with remote sensing technologies.
