About the role

Operates and monitors electronic surveillance equipment to ensure compliance with regulations, laws, policy, procedures, safety, and security throughout the casino.

Responsibilities

• Operates and monitors CCTV cameras, recording devices, door access systems, and associated software.
• Monitors multiple casino areas simultaneously to detect suspicious or unusual behavior and ensure compliance.
• Maintains familiarity with current regulatory requirements and department procedures.
• Reports suspicious behavior to appropriate authorities and prepares incident reports for outside distribution.
• Records and maintains accurate logs of all surveillance activities.
• Stays updated on known cheaters, advantage play, scams, and methods.
• Ensures current knowledge of all casino games (table games, slots, pull tabs, bingo, etc.).
• Documents all casino actions requested by management and all infractions.
• Conducts random or special surveillance as requested.
• Documents illegal activity (recorded and/or written).
• Coordinates with security personnel to ensure safety of individuals and property.
• Cooperates and interacts with all departments, special forces, and other casinos when necessary.
• Records all transactions regarding money and researches necessary video or written documents.
• Remains alert to all possibilities and makes suggestions to supervisor(s).
• Assumes the Surveillance Operator 2 position when necessary.
• Attends all mandatory department trainings, including Title 31 and/or SAR training.
• Ensures confidentiality of financial records, employee records, and client records.
• Maintains professionalism, courtesy, and respect in all interactions.
• Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa positively in the community.
• Maintains proper attendance, punctuality, and a clean, organized work area.
• Adapts to changes and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

• No formal education required.
• Knowledge of surveillance systems and equipment (cameras, recording devices, computers) is preferred.
• Excellent observation skills and ability to remain focused for extended periods.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and Minnesota laws is preferred.
• Proficiency in computer applications (word processing, database entry, spreadsheets, Microsoft Outlook).
• Must be certified in blackjack within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to work under stressful situations and follow directions.
• Willingness to learn and adaptability.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and maintain attention to detail.
• Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships.
• Subject to drug testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Employee Drug and Alcohol Policy.
• Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
• Prolonged sitting, with some lifting and walking.
• Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including work in a smoking environment.

Schedule

Rotating shifts. Operations are conducted seven days a week, 24 hours a day, including holidays.

Pay

$18.95 - $21.32 per hour
