About the role
DigiStream Investigations, a national private investigations firm, seeks bold characters with curious minds to add to our Buffalo team. You don’t need specialized training, credentials, or experience. You just need grit, open availability, and a sense of adventure. We’ll train you on the rest and equip you with the tools you need to thrive in the field. Being an Investigator isn’t easy. Each day will be unpredictable. You’ll need to think on your feet and adapt to blend in while conducting surveillance on fraud cases. No PI license required — all equipment and vehicle (with gas and maintenance cards) provided on day one.
Training & Advancement
- Paid training provided
- Entry-level position with career advancement through the Surveillance Promotional Track
Pay
- Starting pay: $19/hour
- Average rookie Investigators earn $44,000–$54,000+ in their first year
- Performance-based raise opportunities at 90-day and annual performance reviews

Schedule
- Open availability required, including weekends and holidays
- Average 50 hours per week
- Ability to start as early as 5 a.m. daily with occasional evening work
Working Conditions

- Maintaining surveillance position in hot or cold environments
- Foot pursuits
- Frequent video camera use
- Typing and viewing a laptop monitor
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 21 years old
- Valid driver’s license
- Currently live in the Buffalo, NY area
- Open availability, including weekends and holidays (average 50 hours/week)
- Ability to start work as early as 5 a.m. daily with occasional work into the evenings
- Ability to pass DMV check and background check
- Confident driving skills
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight on remote assignments (as needed)
- Accountability for working under minimal supervision
- Adaptability to blend in while undercover in any location with any activity
