Role Overview
The client is seeking a highly skilled IT Professional to manage, support, and design facilities-based systems state-wide. You will be part of a specialized team handling critical infrastructure including surveillance, door controls, building automation, and telecommunication systems across nearly 200 agency locations, including secure prison sites. This role requires a wide degree of creativity, independent troubleshooting, and the ability to adapt to varying environments in the field.
Responsibilities
- System Implementation & Support: Design, plan, install, and support desktop PCs, servers, network devices, storage solutions, and surveillance-specific equipment.
- Network & Security Management: Install, configure, maintain, and monitor state-wide networks, and manage web filtering using Palo Alto and Zscaler.
- Project Tracking: Provide tactical and strategic input on systems planning, manage project tracking, and handle extensive system documentation updates.
- Issue Mitigation: Independently troubleshoot and resolve facilities-based IT issues as they arise across multiple secure locations.
Required Qualifications
- Overall Experience: 10+ years of extensive experience in surveillance, network, and server support.
- Networking: 3+ years of experience with Cisco Networking (Routers & Switches).
- Web Filtering: 1–2 years of experience with Palo Alto & Zscaler.
- Video Surveillance: 1–2 years of experience managing video surveillance systems (Network/Server/Workstation).

Travel & Working Conditions
- Travel: This role requires day travel to state-wide facilities using state-provided fleet vehicles. Long days are common, but overnight travel is very infrequent and planned well in advance.
- On-Call Rotation: Required once every 8 weeks (includes an hourly carrying rate, with standard rates applied during active work calls).
- Work Environment: Hybrid schedule (Work-from-Home combined with active on-location work at state and secure sites as needed).
