The Patient Care Technician shall serve as a supportive member of the patient care team who will assist in routine and non-complex aspects of patient care. The PCT will assist RNs, LPNs, and Physicians in the patient care process. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within the scope of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist in routine and non-complex aspects of patient care.
• Assist RNs, LPNs, and Physicians in the patient care process.
• Perform additional duties assigned within the scope of the role.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Preferred: graduation from a certified Nursing Assistant Program or a Health Occupations Program (HOSA).
• Preferred: completion of first clinical rotation as a nurse student (i.e., completion of a ‘Nursing Fundamentals’ course covering activities of daily living, vital signs, etc.) or 1 year of experience in a patient care role in an acute care, nursing home, or home care setting.
• Required: BLS certification.
