Surgical Technology Tutoring Assistant
About the role
This position is an on-campus, part-time, up-to 19-hours per week appointment based in Champaign, Illinois. Applications are accepted until the position is filled.
Responsibilities
- Provide group and one-on-one study groups.
- Understand didactic class course delivery.
- Cookordinate with lead instructor for instructional topics.
- Cookordinate with lead instructor for available times and locations.
- Cookordinate with lead instructor retrieving study materials on Cobra or in print form.
- Cookordinate with lead instructor parameters of instruction and assistance.
- Comply with instructional accommodations when needed.
- Maintain activity log of student participation.
- Demonstrate flexibility with students from various backgrounds and learning styles; demonstrate experience with a variety of teaching strategies.
- Understand FERPA and confidentiality regarding student progress and information.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
- Current NBSTSA certification.
Qualifications
Potential new hires will successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check with fingerprinting. The background check review includes, but is not limited to, exclusionary offenses per the Illinois School Code and Title IV of the Higher Education Act.

Demonstrated flexibility with students from various backgrounds and learning styles; demonstrated experience with a variety of teaching strategies. Understands FERPA and confidentiality regarding student progress and information.
