About the Team

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital featuring a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
• Perform scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensure the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for the surgeon and procedure.
• Assist with circulating duties under the direct supervision of the RN circulator assigned to the patient.
• Ensure adherence to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT – Certification.
• Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist in the State of NJ.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent (preferred).
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist Program (preferred).
• Minimum of one (1) year as a Certified Surgical Technologist (preferred).

Pay

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
