Surgical Technologist - Malvern Surgery Center

About the role

This primary position at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Surgery Center, Malvern will include collaboration with the Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware and Nemours Children’s Hospital, Surgery Center, Deptford to optimize available resources in achieving optimal patient outcomes. This position may require periodic rotation to these facilities. Travel is compensated based on organizational policy.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.
• Collaborates with the Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware and Nemours Children’s Hospital, Surgery Center, Deptford to optimize available resources in achieving optimal patient outcomes.
• May require periodic rotation to these facilities.
• Ensures sterility of the surgical field taking activating escalation and corrective action as needed.
• Prepares sterile dressings upon completion of final surgical count.
• Cleans and prepares surgical instruments for processing and transport to the sterile processing decontamination area per organizational policy and procedure.
• Participates in post-procedure operating room turn over process adhering to established reliable method.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Surgical Technologist Program required.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
