Work Schedule

Part‑time, 90% FTE, Evening shift. Monday – Friday between the hours of 06:40‑15:10 with a 09:40‑18:10 shift once a week, with weekday and weekend call responsibilities. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

About the Role

Join our remarkable inpatient surgery team as they work together to perform complex surgical procedures for patients from around the world. The position is based at UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin, a cosmopolitan city of more than 280,000 located on an isthmus between Lakes Mendota and Monona, with easy access to Milwaukee, Chicago, and Minneapolis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room prior to surgery in a fast‑paced environment.
• Assist world‑renowned surgeons within a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Prepare for and perform complex surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of and assist surgeons during surgery.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technologist program (or two years of Surgical Technologist experience in lieu of program completion).
• Basic Life Support/CPR certification within 6 months.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – required.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
