Surgical Technologist

About the role

As a Surgical Technologist, you will perform the scrub role as a member of the Perioperative team, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse for selected tasks in the administration of patient care within the operating room suite. You will prepare for surgical procedures and arrange sterile set-up of instrument table, demonstrate competency in advanced level case assignment and advanced level equipment, and assist surgeons by passing instruments, medications, supplies, holding retractors, and anticipating surgeons’ needs during the course of surgery.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon at the sterile field and the registered nurse during the surgical procedure
• Maintain a safe and aseptic environment for all patients
• Act as a resource person for others in the department and actively participate in the preceptor role in the training of new personnel
• Coordinate special instrument needs between SPD and the OR for each specialty

Requirements

• Graduate from high school or equivalent program
• Completion of Surgical Technologist course required
• Surgical Technologist certification preferred
• One year of experience
• Current BCLS certification required

Pay

Hourly Wage Estimate: $39.27 – $46.25 per hour. The estimate represents the typical wage range of candidates hired; actual salary may vary based on specific skills, years of experience, and internal equity. The typical candidate is hired below the midpoint of the range.
