Schedule

• Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
• PRN: Amount of hours/days weekly will vary depending on surgery schedule and vacation of staff

Responsibilities

• Scrubbing cases and assisting surgical procedures
• Pulling cases for next day surgeries or add-ons
• Setting up OR rooms for surgery
• Cleaning the room after surgery
• Assembling instrument trays
• Helping wash instruments
• Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies
• Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens
• Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location

Parkland Health Center has two locations in St. Francois County, Missouri - a full-service acute care hospital in Farmington and a rural emergency hospital in Bonne Terre. The Surgical Services Department provides pre-op and post-op inpatient care to patients undergoing specialty surgical procedures in areas including abdominal solid organ transplant, vascular surgery, hepatobiliary, trauma, ear-nose and throat, and orthopedic procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program (preferred)

Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technician (preferred)
• No prior supervisory experience required
