About the role
The Surgical Technologist assists surgeons during procedures, ensuring patient safety and proper preparation.
Responsibilities
- Supporting aseptic techniques, including scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and instrument setup.
- Participating in surgical timeout and verifying correct surgical site.
- Managing supplies, preparing specimens, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Assisting with wound assessment, dressing changes, and intra-operative needs.
- Preparing operating rooms, restocking supplies, and cleaning between procedures.
- Reporting patient reactions and outcomes, and supporting emergency procedures.
- Training new personnel and assisting in inventory management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Active Surgical Technologist Certification or meeting Act 80 guidelines.
- Prior experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and patient care.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Work Environment
