Surgical Technician I - Labor & Delivery

About the role

The Surgical Technician, Labor and Delivery I is an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical and patient care. Functions under the supervision of a surgeon or registered nurse to ensure that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Assists with patients in triage. Assists with the breakdown and instrument care in the Labor and Delivery deck area.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the operating room environment is safe and equipment functions properly.
  • Assist under the supervision of a surgeon or registered nurse to maximize patient safety during operative procedures.
  • Assist with patient triage.
  • Assist with breakdown and instrument care in the Labor and Delivery deck area.

Requirements

  • 3 years of clinical experience as a Surgical Technician (Required).

Qualifications

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Preferred).
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology program (Preferred).
  • Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology (Preferred).
  • Military experience in Surgical Technology (Preferred).
