Surgical Tech OR (FT - Day) - Lansdale

About the role

The position requires a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) (TS-C) with experience scrubbing multiple services in the Operating Room. Jefferson Health, a large health system in the Philadelphia region, seeks to improve lives through its mission.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a member of the intraoperative healthcare team.
• Accurately and efficiently anticipates surgeon's needs intraoperatively.
• Prepares and maintains the sterile field.
• Supports decontamination and sterile supply area.
• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family, and designated care partners.
• Assists with gowning and gloving of the surgical team, including the surgeon.
• Assists with the preparation of the sterile field, including draping the patient and maintaining sterile field integrity.
• Gives a thorough report to relief personnel on the status of the procedure, instruments, materials, and any other pertinent information.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Helps maintain a safe, neat, and clean environment to facilitate safe and effective patient care in the Operating Room.
• Acts as a primary preceptor to other surgical team members as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technician training program.
• BLS and OR Technician certification required.
• One (1) year of scrub experience preferred.

Skills

Knowledge of surgical assistance techniques and ability to successfully complete surgical procedures in compliance with applicable health and safety standards.
