About the role
Provides patient care duties for patients of all ages, infants through adults under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Serves as a surgical technician as well as a Nursing Assistant. Provides care preoperatively, perioperatively, and postoperatively within scope of practice and hospital policy and procedures. Also functions as a surgical assistant and/or assistant to the circulating nurse.

Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- BCLS certification (from the American Heart Association or AHA certification within three months of employment date).
- Nurse Aide I or II listed with the Nurse Aide Registry at the NC Division of Facility Services and the NC Board of Nursing (preferred).
- Certification in Surgical Technology (preferred).
Qualifications
- No previous experience required.
- Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
Skills
- Basic patient care skills.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols.
- Ability to follow hospital policies and procedures.
