About the role

The East Campus OR cares for patients undergoing various surgical procedures including Gynecology, General, Urology, Robotics, Oncology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastic, and Interventional Pulmonology.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the circulating nurse to prepare the operating room, gather supplies, and maintain the sterile field.
  • Passes supplies, equipment, or instruments during the intraoperative phase as directed.
  • Monitors the sterile field and provides necessary instruments and supplies to the surgeon and other team members.
  • Recognizes and reports situations that impede patient safety.
  • Safeguards patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Prioritizes activities related to equipment and instrumentation to facilitate efficient turnover times.
  • Reports problems related to kits, equipment, or supplies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Certificate 1: Certified Surgical Technician (CST).
  • Certificate 2: Basic Life Support.
  • 1-3 years related work experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited education program for surgical technologists or completed a training program in the United States Military or Public Health Service.
  • Maintains a certified surgical technologist credential from a nationally recognized surgical technologist credentialing body.
  • Basic computer skills.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Certified Surgical Technician (CST).
  • Basic Life Support.
  • 1-3 years related work experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited education program for surgical technologists or completed a training program in the United States Military or Public Health Service.
  • Maintains a certified surgical technologist credential from a nationally recognized surgical technologist credentialing body.
  • Basic computer skills.

Pay

Pay Range: $38.33 - $56.95
Actual compensation is determined based on several factors including seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.

Schedule

Staff work 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts and cover call on off-shifts, weekends and holidays.
